ASSW 2027 - Hakodate, Japan

Arctic Science Summit Week 2027 (ASSW 2027) will take place from 11–20 April 2027 in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan.

Organised annually by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), ASSW provides a major international platform for coordination, cooperation and collaboration among organisations and researchers engaged in Arctic science.

The first part of the programme, from 11–15 April, will feature IASC and Arctic community meetings and workshops. These sessions will enable scientific organisations, research projects and international networks to meet, exchange knowledge and advance collaborative initiatives.

From 16–20 April, ASSW 2027 will host the Ninth International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-9) under the theme “Expanding and Connecting Arctic Research Diversity.” The symposium will feature plenary, regular and special sessions spanning the breadth of Arctic research, with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion.

ASSW 2027 is organised by IASC and hosted by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, Hokkaido University, the National Institute of Polar Research, the Japan Consortium for Arctic Environmental Research and the City of Hakodate.
