19th Polar Law Symposium

The 19th Polar Law Symposium will bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, Indigenous representatives and early-career researchers to discuss current developments in Arctic and Antarctic law and governance.

The symposium will focus on two principal themes: regime interaction across climate, biodiversity and ocean governance; and biculturalism and polar governance. Discussions will examine how legal systems and international agreements respond to environmental change, the protection of polar environments, Indigenous rights and knowledge, and evolving governance challenges across the polar regions.

The event provides an interdisciplinary forum connecting law, science, policy and culture while encouraging international exchange within the polar-law community.
