Applications are open for the 2027 Gordon Research Conference on Polar Marine Science“The Polar Oceans as Global Lynchpins,” taking place 21–26 March 2027 in Oxnard, California, USA. ´

The conference will provide an interdisciplinary exploration of some of the key controversies in polar oceanography in the context of a changing climate, including questions around deepwater formation, primary production, and feedbacks between marine aerosols and clouds.

The conference will be preceded by a Gordon Research Seminar for early-career scientists“Poles Apart, Connected by Change: Governing Principles in Polar Ecosystems,” focusing on the response of Arctic and Antarctic ecosystems to rapid climate change and providing opportunities to build international networks and collaborations.

Some funding support is available for early-career and Arctic Indigenous scientists
