The IASC Terrestrial and Social and Human Sciences WGs are supporting a CircumArctic Rangifer Monitoring and Assessment (CARMA) Workshop on the global status of migratory tundra Rangifer. The workshop will focus on lessons learned from recent declines to monitor, assess, and manage abundance into the future. The workshop will be held in Vancouver in late fall 2012 and include active CARMA collaborators across the Circumpolar North. The workshop is consistent with IASC's mission to foster multidisciplinary research and will include academics, aboriginal representatives, co-management group members, climate specialists and agency biologists and managers.
