The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F) in cooperation with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) are excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 IASC Fellowship Program.
Ten successful early career researchers were identified for all available fellowships. APECS very kindly coordinated the application and review process; recommendations from APECS based on the peer review process were delivered for final selection to the IASC Working Group Chairs. The reviewers were impressed by the excellent quality of the applications.
The 2026 IASC Fellows are:
- Julia Andreasen (United States) – Atmosphere Working Group | Expertise: Atmospheric Rivers, Climate Modelling, Co-Production Of Knowledge
- Julia Kojoj (Sweden) – Atmosphere Working Group | Expertise: Aerosol-Cloud Interactions, Bioaerosols, Natural Aerosol Sources
- Monojiit Saha (United States) – Cryosphere Working Group | Expertise: Sea Ice, Remote Sensing, Arctic Fieldwork
- Gabrielle Kleber (Norway) – Cryosphere Working Group – IASC-FPA2 Science Diplomacy Fellow | Expertise: Glaciology, Methane, Biogeochemistry
- Monica Ogawa (Japan) – Marine Working Group | Expertise: Marine Mammals; Inuit Researcher Partnerships; Trophic Ecology
- Margaret Rudolph (United States) – Marine Working Group – IASC FPA2 Indigenous Fellow | Expertise: Research Methodologies, Co-Production Of Knowledge, Indigenous Engagement

The IASC Fellowship Program provides the opportunity for early career researchers to become involved in leading-edge scientific activities at a circumarctic and international level, to build an international network, and also to develop management skills.
The IASC Fellows engage in the work of the IASC Working Groups (WGs): Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Marine, Social & Human, and Terrestrial. The IASC Indigenous Fellows engages also in the work of the IASC Standing Committee on Indigenous Involvement.
At times, IASC also offers special joint Fellowships in cooperation with other partners, which this year is the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F). As part of the Polar Initiative with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, two of the IASC Fellowships 2026 are generously funded by the foundation.
The next round of applications will open in September 2026.
