IASC's ISIRA (International Science Initiative in the Russian Arctic)  has allocated funding to pay for the registration of 6 early career researchers from Russia, to be able to attend the 2018 UArctic Congress, taking place in Oulu and Helsinki, Finland. These scientists were selected through an application process, with help from UArctic:

ISIRA is a Russian and international cooperative initiative to assist Arctic science and sustainable development in the Russian Arctic. ISIRA´s objectives include: Initiating planning of multinational research programs that address specific key problems in the Russian Arctic; Providing a forum for linking on-going or planned bilateral projects; Facilitating improved scientific access to the Russian Arctic; and Advising on funding and implementation of projects.

UArctic, an IASC partner, is a cooperative network of universities, colleges, research institutes and other organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North. UArctic builds and strengthens collective resources and collaborative infrastructure that enables member institutions to better serve their constituents and their regions. Through cooperation in education, research and outreach we enhance human capacity in the North, promote viable communities and sustainable economies, and forge global partnerships.
